Wellness Programs
GU-Q supports student health and wellness through programs that engage students in learning how to improve their physical and mental well-being. We work with other GU-Q departments, Education City universities, and local healthcare providers to bring wellness programs to campus.
Healthy Mind
We provide holistic wellness services, including counseling, assessment, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, prevention and outreach, and referrals through the SWCC. The certified counselors on staff also provide consultations and training for all members of the GU-Q community.
Healthy Body
Supporting your physical wellness is a main priority, with a on campus gym and fitness classes, and access to Education City athletic facilities and competitions. A health and dental care Clinic in Education City, and resources through the SWCC ensure that you have health insurance and access to medical care on and off campus while you’re at GU-Q.
Healthy Spirit
Guided by Georgetown’s faith-based tradition, with its abiding commitment to interreligious collaboration, the Qatar campus offers dedicated prayer spaces and encourages each student to embrace their own spiritual traditions in order to lead lives of deeper meaning, belonging and purpose. A robust Campus Ministry ensures frequent interaction with Georgetown’s resident Imam, Priest, and other religious leaders, and students at GU-Q and across the Education City multiversity support each other through religious affinity groups. The campus also benefits from the Education City Office of Wellness and Spiritual Life, and close proximity to the Education City, and Women’s Mosque, and access to the churches of the Catholic, Protestant, Anglican, Coptic, Syrian and Greek Orthodox traditions in the Mesaimeer Religious Complex.
Student Perspectives
“My faith has played a significant role in my sense of belonging at GU-Q. Even in a Muslim-majority country, I found a community that supported my spiritual journey and kept me grounded. For that, I am deeply grateful.”

Accessibility
We’re committed to ensuring equal access to academic opportunities and integrating differently-abled students into all aspects of university life, in alignment with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
The Student Wellness and Counseling Center, Office of Academic Services, and the U.S.-based Academic Resource Center work together to ensure students have access to the resources and accommodations they need to succeed.

Safety and Security
Georgetown uses an integrated approach to safety and security on campus, coordinating a network designed to provide a safe environment, to prevent problems before they occur, to respond swiftly and effectively when problems arise, and to maintain essential services and business operations after a serious incident.
A dedicated security team, Risk and Resilience Lead, and crisis team operate in partnership with Qatar Foundation security to maintain a proactive and responsive environment that supports the well-being of our campus community. Situational Emergency Updates are shared on our website and through the GU-Q Alert System, among other means.
