Georgetown University in Qatar is a campus of Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Our academic programs are accredited both in the United States and recognized by local authorities in the State of Qatar.
Georgetown University is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Georgetown University’s accreditation status is Accredited. The Commission’s most recent action on the institution’s accreditation status on November 17, 2022 was to reaffirm accreditation, and is scheduled for a reaffirmation of its accreditation during 2029-2030.
MSCHE is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to conduct accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidate status) activities for institutions of higher education including distance, correspondence education, and direct assessment programs offered at those institutions. The Commission’s geographic area of accrediting activities is throughout the United States.

Georgetown University’s Qatar campus is recognized by the Qatar Ministry of Education and Higher Education as a higher education provider under the Qatar Foundation, Education City group of universities.
