About

Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are reliant upon donations to operate. Given the regular calls for donations, it might be assumed that NGOs accept all the funds they receive. This is not the case. NGOs can and do use their agency to refuse funding. Yet, almost no research exists to analyze these occurrences. This presentation will present a recently published paper that developed a typology of refusal and the launch of a public database to enable more research in this area of refusing donor funding.
