Hana Attia is Assistant Professor of International Politics at Georgetown University in Qatar.

Previously, she was Assistant Professor at Leuphana University in Germany. Her research examines how states and international organizations respond to threats to peace and security, with a focus on economic sanctions and other forms of economic statecraft. She uses quantitative methods, observational data, and survey experiments and is a co-creator of the International Sanctions Termination Dataset. Her work has appeared in International Studies Quarterly, the Journal of Peace Research, and Foreign Policy Analysis.

She received her PhD in Political Science from the University of Konstanz.
