Dr. Iman Alramadan is an Associate Teaching Professor of Arabic at Georgetown University in Qatar. She was formerly a Senior Lecturer in Arabic with the Middle Eastern Languages and Culture Program at the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies at Indiana University Bloomington (IUB). Her teaching has been recognized with multiple accolades, including the 2015 and 2025 Trustees Teaching Award, the 2021 Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching Mumford Excellence in Extraordinary Teaching Award, and the 2026 Kathy O. Smith Morley Career Distinguished Teaching Award.

Professor Alramadan received her Ph.D. in Arabic Linguistics in 2007 from the Université Jean Moulin in France. She is a specialist in teaching Arabic as a foreign language and is versed in Arabic grammar and morphology as well as Arabic literature. Her research focuses on culture and intercultural awareness, intercultural literacy, and community-based teaching. In addition, she has studied the language of Arabic science heritage and Arabic medical terminology. Professor Alramadan teaches intermediate, advanced, and global classroom and content classes, such as Arab women and Arab culture through music, curriculum, and materials design. She is the director of cultural and co-curricular activities at IUB’s Arabic Flagship Program and was the director of the Arabic summer program at the Indiana University Language Workshop between 2019 and 2025.
