Maha Houssami is Visiting Senior Lecturer of Arabic at Georgetown University in Qatar for the 2026–27 academic year.
She joins GU-Q from Duke University, where she is Senior Lecturer and Arabic Language Program Coordinator in the Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. Her work focuses on Arabic language pedagogy, experiential and community-based learning, and the integration of emerging technologies into language education. She has also directed immersive, community-based Arabic programs in Jordan and Lebanon and coached Duke’s Arabic Debate Team.
She received her MA in Education from the American University of Beirut.
