Design Your Degree

Years 3 and 4

Choose a Major

After completing the core curriculum, you will be prepared to start one of the five BSFS majors. You can customize your major by selecting courses related to your areas of interest, where you’ll have the opportunity to take courses alongside students in the United States or to study overseas at one of more than 100 universities.

Add a Minor

Pursue your interests and communicate your expertise to employers and graduate schools by adding a minor to your degree. Whether you choose a language like Arabic or French, or an area study such as Africa or the Indian Ocean, our minors can help you refine your skills and deepen your understanding of international affairs.

Earn a Certificate

Interdisciplinary certificates complement your degree through rigorous scholarship focused on a thematic area of interest, such as America, the Arab world, media, or energy.

Gain Experience

Apply the ideas and theories that you learn in class to real-world situations via credit and non-credit experiential learning programs, including internships and service trips.

Start an Accelerated Graduate Program

GU-Q offers an accelerated program that allows you to complete your Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in approximately five years. For students planning to attend law school, we also offer the Georgetown Law Early Assurance Program.
