How to Apply

For obtaining permit for allocated parking for persons with disabilities in GU-Q building, eligible students need to apply by visiting a counselor at the Student Wellness & Counseling Center. Depending on duration of your need for parking accommodations follow appropriate steps below.

For Temporary Parking Permit

Students who require temporary parking accommodations up to one semester must meet with a SWCC counselor and submit required medical documentation from their physician justifying their need. Upon approval, students will receive a temporary disability permit from GU-Q Building Operations. This permit will allow them to park in allocated disabled parking in GU-Q building for the duration of approved parking accommodation.

Required medical documentation must include:

  • Diagnosis or injury
  • Reasons for why parking accommodation is necessary
  • Duration of parking accommodations (up to one semester)

For Permanent Parking Permit

Students who need more than one semester parking accommodations must obtain Qatar parking permit by submitting a request to the Qatar General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior (MOI). Student who have permit for persons with disability in Qatar are able to take advantage of the parking lots allocated for persons with disabilities in the state of Qatar, as well as GU-Q allocated disabled parking in GU-Q building.

Additional Information

  • Parking accommodation is for GU-Q and does not qualify as a parking permit for Qatar Foundation or Education City as a whole.
  • Enter Education City as per the rules set by Qatar Foundation and proceed to Georgetown to park in the GU-Q underground parking facility in the allocated spaces designated for disabled parking.  
  • The temporary disability parking permit issued by Building Operations should be displayed in the dash of the car while parked.  
  • Failure to abide by the rules, including parking in spaces not designated as disabled, may result in the termination of the parking accommodation and may be seen as a violation of the Student Code of Conduct.
  • GU-Q reserves the right to approve or deny a student’s request for receiving parking accommodation.
